Stop the Shedding from Spreading

February 21, 2019 3 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. You won't pay a penny more, but you'll help keep It's Dog or Nothing running (websites are expensive!) and the floofs fed (they're even more expensive - as you well know) ;)

3 Great Pyrenees + 1 cat + PNW weather = disaster. Here's how we stop the shedding from spreading and keep the house (somewhat) presentable.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Swiffer at Walmart. The opinions and text are all mine.

You know you have a fur problem when a lint roller magically appears on your desk at work (I still have no idea who gave it to me).

With three giant, floofy dogs—who shed like it’s their job—and a cat, the shed is real around here. Even after a thorough brushing, the shed continues.

What they say is true.

A Great Pyrenees only sheds two times per year. Once from January to June, and a second time from July to December.

Swiffer Heavy Duty Pet

Swiffer Heavy Duty Pet is a new lineup of products designed to trap and lock more pet hair. It’s the easy way to stop shedding from spreading.

I’ve been a Swiffer fan for quite some time. Their products are effective and simple—perfect for lazy cleaners like myself.

3 dogs + 1 cat + PNW weather = DISASTER

Seriously, a complete disaster. Aside from their shed, the dogs track in all the muck from the yard. And I hate mopping. There’s the mop, the bucket, the cleaning solution—too many things to get out and then clean up.

I usually end up making even more of a mess by spilling the bucket all over the place.

But I really don’t like muddy paw prints all over my floors, so I have to figure out a way to mop.

That’s why I love Swiffer’s wet/dry sweeper kit. It’s one tool with two purposes—to gather the pet fur and then remove the muddy paw prints.

This makes it super easy to do a quick clean-up when I get home from work. I get home, pour a glass of wine, and attach the dry cloth to gather the fur. Toss it, attach the wet cloth, and clean the mud up.

If you have a double-coated dog, how do you handle the fur? If we don't do daily brushing sessions, my home pays the price! Thankfully, Swiffer makes it quick and easy to keep our home fur-free.

It takes me about five minutes each evening. Just getting out the broom, pan, mop, bucket, and everything else I would need—if I didn’t have a Swiffer—takes at least that long.

It’s not just the floor that suffers from the shed.

Can someone explain to me how it’s possible to find floof fur on top or my cabinets? That stuff sure gets around. Then add on the cat fur because Miss Indie can get everywhere.

On the cabinets, the mantle, you name it—she always leaves evidence (fur) behind. And nothing is more frustrating than not being able to reach the fur-covered areas to clean.

The Swiffer Heavy Duty Pet duster has a handle that extends up to 6 feet. No more climbing on the counters or attempting to balance on a very sketchy step ladder to remove the flying floof.

Boom. Fur is gone. And the fur doesn’t fly around like it would with a feather duster. The Swiffer duster traps the fur—perfect for people like me who are allergic to everything.

Find new Swiffer Heavy Duty Pet products—including dusters, dry sweeping cloths, and wet mopping cloths—for a great price at Walmart.

I only have one Pyr and one cat but the fur gets pretty insane. And we are about to enter the rainy season here so I think I’ll have to check this out !

I love that it’s so easy you can even clean while having a glass of wine!
