Windees For the Win

We were so excited to win the Jone’s Natural Chews giveaway from Blueberry at Spotty, Spotty, Polkadotty.

Like… SO EXCITED.

I have seen pawsome reviews on everything from Jone’s Natural Chews and was itching for my chance to see what all the fuss was about.

Guys, the fuss is well deserved.

We decided to try the ‘Windees’. I hadn’t read many reviews on them and I thought they might be a nice treat to keep Mauja and Atka busy in the evening.

Now, I was expecting to get a handful of treats; maybe just enough for a few nights. Nope. The wonderful, fantastic Flea sent us two CASES of Windees.

I thought the dogs were going to lose their minds as the smell wafted through the house.

I’m not going to lie, I felt a twinge of disappointment when I looked at the treats. I expected them to be thicker. I was positive the pups would devour one in seconds.

I was wrong.

So wrong.

The Windees took them about 20-30 minutes to get through. That is an eternity in this house! It’s now their favorite nightly snack ๐Ÿ™‚

We have several long trips coming up and I plan to stock up on these to keep them occupied during long days in the car.

I will add… I find them gross. I don’t do well with items that you can tell came from an animal. I make my husband get them out of the packaging so I don’t have to touch them. But I’m a baby, the dogs love them, and the treats really are fantastic, so I will continue to stock up.

*Pro Tip – I suggest keeping the treats in a garage or someplace where the smell won’t be so strong. The pups laid outside the closet that the treats were in for hours. I was waiting for them to try and dig their way through ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m also not a fan of stinky treats like pig ears&Co. (specially when the pup thinks he can eat it in MY bed) but 20-30 minutes sounds great, I could do something for me while Easy is busy :o)

TWO CASES?!? Oh my word! You scored! I’m so glad your dogs love them. They’re also a natural source of glucosamine and chondroitin, great for senior dogs.

I know!! Great for giant breeds too. They need the extra glucosamine and chondroitin, especially when they’re growing.

We’ve never tried Windees, mom is so nervous about giving these kinds of things to us. But if your big pups didn’t devour them whole maybe we will give them a try! Thanks for sharing!

I didn’t think they smelled that strong – but then again – I didn’t have two whole cases of them. You definitely scored!

It’s true – things the humans find disgusting, dogs will almost ALWAYS love! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a wimp when it comes to that stuff. My husband said he can’t really smell them.

We reviewed the Windees rings last month and felt that those were too small for our big dogs. The large pieces however are great and you are right, they are very hard. The dogs loved them…really loved them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats on your win.

We will definitely have to try these. Always looking to add more glucosamine and chondroitin to Harper Lee’s diet, and thee sound like they would provide an excellent distraction for the initial 20 minutes of over excitement when guests visit. ๐Ÿ™‚
