Sometimes You Just Need to Chew

Finding dog toys for Mauja and Atka is not an easy task. They love the stuffies, but they rip them apart in approximately .5 seconds. They still get use out of the stuffie carcass, but not it’s not nearly as much fun as ripping the stuffing and squeakers out. Then there’s the hard toys. They seem to have to be in the right mood to play with them. So what else is there to try?

We were walking through our local pet store the other week and came across this funky looking toy. First, I was attracted by the bright colors. Give me anything colorful! Then I realized it was an eco-friendly product. The toys can literally be recycled indefinitely into new toys. Love anything eco-friendly! Finally, it was time for the dog test. We showed the toy to Atka to see what he thought. He grabbed the toy in his mouth and proceeded to the check out.

It was a winner.

We’ve had two days of beautiful weather here in Montana. 60’s and sunny! Mauja and Atka enjoyed spending the afternoons lying in the shade chewing on their favorite toys. Atka chose the Bumi Tug Toy.

This toy has lasted AND kept their interest. What more could you want?!

Mauja was avoiding the camera so she didn’t get to show how much she enjoyed the toy 😉

Bailey has toys he’s had since he was a puppy over a decade ago. I’ve never seen a dog love on toys and not destroy them. Katy on the other hand has retired several of Bailey’s earlier toys. She is more traditional in her treatment of toys.

I see pictures occasionally where people say their dog has had a toy for five years. I am just not able to fathom that! If a toy lasts more than 3 minutes, it’s an awesome toy! Better them ripping apart the toys than the couch 😉

Our dog Prince is an obsessive chewer so we are always looking for sturdy toys. I will have to check these out. Thanks for sharing the info 🙂

It’s not your typical chew toy – more of a rubber texture. It’s something different and that’s why I think they like it so much! It stretches so they can play tug and they love tossing it in the pool 😉
