The topic of what to feed your dog is extremely controversial. You can feed your dog canned food, dry food, prepared cooked meals, raw, or any combination of these types.
At It’s Dog or Nothing, we believe that there is a place for all of the above feeding methods depending on your dog’s specific needs. For Mauja and Atka, I always like to start with a base of premium-quality kibble. However, I like to supplement their food to provide different nutrients, keep them interested, or simply to mix it up a bit. That’s where Stella & Chewy’s® comes in to play.I absolutely love the Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers for supplementing the fluffies’ existing diet. Meal Mixers are an easy way to add freeze-dried raw pet food to any meal. Futhermore, there is one quality of the Meal Mixers that I find very important: high pressure processing (HPP).
Stella & Chewy’s uses HPP to ensure your dog is receiving high-quality, safe nutrition. All of the products are cold pressed using pressure equal to that found at the bottom of the ocean where bacteria cannot survive. This inactivates any harmful pathogens and bacteria. HPP gives me confidence that the food I’m giving to my favorite pooches is safe.
A third-party independent lab analysis is also conducted on each batch to ensure the safety of Stella & Chewy’s food. This analysis happens before the batch leaves their Wisconsin-based manufacturing facility. You can easily find the results of each test on their website!
Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers come in four flavors: Stellas Super Beef, Chewys Chicken, Tantalizing Turkey, and Savory Salmon & Cod (available in 3.5 oz, 9 oz, or 18 oz packages). Meal Mixers are freeze-dried to lock in the tasty nutrition and are ready to serve. You can also add a bit of warm water to rehydrate the food, which is recommended.
What else do we love about Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers?
- 95% beef, organs, and bone
- Complemented with organic fruits and vegetables
- Added probiotics and antioxidants
- Made without grains, gluten, fillers, or anything artificial
- Proteins are grass-fed, cage-free, wild-caught, and/or farm-raised
I added some of Stella’s Super Beef Meal Mixers to Mauja and Atka’s kibble and they were thrilled. I didn’t think anything could rival their excitement for my prepared meals, but this was right up there! It turns out Mauja and Atka aren’t alone. An independent study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that 9 out of 10 dogs preferred their kibble to be enhanced with Meal Mixers.
Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers are an easy way to add an extra boost of raw pet food nutrition to an existing diet. Just scoop, mix, and serve!

We love Stella & Chewy’s! The Duck Duck Goose patties are one of the first things I fed Ruby.
We haven’t tried those yet! I was perusing their site and we have a lot to try 🙂
Kelsie, is the giveaway open to Canadians?
I’d love to add this into Bain’s food! I always have to mix it up, so now at least this can be an option.
We’d love to try it!!
These sound great! I had no idea they were made using a cold press process – that is wonderful (and a process that my humans look for in their foods, too)! Thank you for sharing the information about this product, we are certainly going to give it a try 🙂
I really appreciate the use of the cold press process. Makes me feel more comfortable feeding them 🙂
My dogs would love to try the Salmon and Cod Mixer.
Mr. N would like the cod. The dogs look thrilled with their food! I like the picture where it looks like they’re reading the ingredient list.
Atka is very thorough when it comes to nutrition 😉
I would love to add this to augment our dry kibble!!!
I hate just giving them the same thing every day. This is a great, healthy way to mix it up!
Tantalizing turkey would be a hit here!!
I think my girl would love the beef!
Chewys chicken here!! Yum
I love that first picture. The expression is just like “Yeah I have a bag of delicious freeze-dried meat. What about it?”
I think Luna would go craziest for the Salmon and Cod!
He always has the best expressions 😉
I love Stella & Chewy’s and use their freeze dried food as toppers on food for our cats and dogs. They have a nice variety of proteins other than chicken and beef; all of our dogs have a chicken intolerance and one of our dogs also has a beef intolerance so finding alternative proteins used to be hard.
It’s unfortunate that chicken is such a common intolerance, yet it’s in the majority of food products. Doesn’t make life easy!
Looks very yummy but I never have any problem eating my dinner. But if I did we would give it a try! Love Dolly
Sounds great!! I don’t think we have Stella and Chewy’s in Australia though 🙁 hopefully one day!
We love these! We’ve tried chicken, but would love to try turkey, too. I’ve used them as high value treats before, too–they’re always a hit.
I never thought to use it as treats! I definitely wouldn’t have a problem keeping their focus!
