Recently, we added a new food to the floofs’ meal rotation, and it’s been a huge hit. If you have a Great Pyrenees, I’m sure you know the pain of trying to keep your dog interested in their food. We have a few standard go-tos that the floofs will eat

The Floof Test
I can think
When I make their food, I always add a little extra water and let it sit for a few minutes longer, turning the water into a nice “broth” for them. They love it and think it’s an added treat! It also enhances the flavor of dry food nicely.
The results are in.
Nature’s Blend is a HUGE hit for my three. I was worried because Kiska can be sensitive to turkey, but she’s been eating the food without an issue for a few months now. I think the blend of protein sources makes all the difference.
If you have a picky eater and are worried about spending the money, only to have your dog not eat it, don’t worry. Dr. Marty offers a 90-day money back guarantee—no questions asked.
Dr. Marty also has a few supplements that I’m interested in testing. First is a digestive supplement called ProPower Plus. All three have always had sensitive stomachs, and I’ve been looking for a good digestive supplement for her.

The other supplement we’re interested in trying is a joint supplement called Free & Active. Having giant breeds, I’m always concerned about joint issues, and start all my dogs on a joint supplement immediately. Since Mauja has had TPLO surgery and showed mild arthritis in her other knee, keeping her joints healthy is extremely important to me.
Have cats? No problem. Dr. Marty also has a freeze-dried cat food called Nature’s Feast. I’ve been so thrilled with the dog food, that I’m thinking of trying this for Indie.
Stay tuned to hear more about Dr. Marty. They support Freedom Service Dogs of America, an organization that trains rescue pups to be service dogs. If you’ve been around awhile, you know Kiska was a rescue and is now my service dog in training. I can’t wait to tell you more about this amazing partnership!
In the meantime, treat your pup and give Nature’s Blend a try. I have a feeling you’ll want to add it to your normal food rotation. We have a special offer for new customers!
Try Nature’s Blend today! Your dog will thank you.

Is this food recommended for Yorkies?
Hi Gilda. I am Kat with Dr. Marty Pets. We always advise our customers to consult their pet’s veterinarian prior to making any dietary changes to their daily regimen. I have just placed second order for Dr. Marty’s Nature Blend. I have e dogs…16 yr old joint hurting Labradoodle, 12 yr old Shih Tzu and 2 year old Biewer Terrier. To my surprise they all love it, which is a first. I am glad I found this.

Is there a way of ordering a larger bag? 16 oz doesn’t seem reasonable for $30. I have two dogs. Ones 30 pounds and ones 60. Would love to try this dog food for the pups!
I have a couple of questions, can a dog have an allergic reaction to this food? And if so what? Also can you serve this food dry without water? Because I read in the booklet that you can if mixing it with their other food, so I hope I am doing it right? Our Chihuahua is eating it right up ??? but I hope she is not having an allergic reaction though
My 9 year old PomChi will not eat Nature’s Blend at all, even prepared with warm water . I want her to eat this healthy food. What do I do?
After putting enough purified water in the bowl of food (just enough to make a “stew”) try mashing the kibble, stirring as you go. I have one dog who likes it dry but our little 10# one prefers the way I have described above.
i have 2 senior Golden’s and 2 senior cats. One Golden has joint and hip issues. The other Golden is lethargic, overweight, with changes in coat (hypothyroidism?). One cat is fine but the other is losing hair. He over-grooms and is now pulling it out in clumps. His appetite and energy seem fine, he hunts, is social and happy. So if I switch everyone to this food, how many meals will a single bag provide? Dogs weigh 80# and 100#. Cats weigh about 10#.
I saw this in another review:
According to a 2012 article from the Washington Post, one pound of dog food has about four cups of food in it, which means one bag can last a 20 lb. dog for three days. Basically, the bigger the dog you have, the fewer the days your food will last, with 90-pound dogs consuming nearly an entire bag in one day.
A 20-pound dog will need about 9.5 bags of food to make it through a 30-day month or around $275 a month for 10 bags.
• $275 for a 20-lb. dog
• $407 for a 30-lb. dog
• $407 for a 40-lb. dog
• $515 for a 50-lb dog
Again, the bigger the dog, the more expensive the endeavor when it comes to this food.
MY TWO GIRLS, BELLA & KODA, BOTH GERMAN SHEPHERD’S. ONE 70 LBS AND THE OTHER 110 LBS MEANS BIG BUCKS FOR YOUR FOOD. OF COURSE THEY LOVE THE FOOD. THEY WOOF IT DOWN AT BREAKFAST AND DINNER. WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE IT LESS TAXING ON MY WALLET BUT STILL GOOD & HEALTHY FOR MY GIRLS?
It’s so expensive 😔
And I REALLY want this for Kurt and Nina!
Thanks for the calculations! Way too expensive. I have 3 small dogs on a fresh RAW diet & it cost less than half of what this food would cost.
Can dogs have this without adding water?
Our two dogs love this food anyway, anytime. However, one prefers it dry, while I mash with water it until it’s stew-like for the other. I’ve taken the dry kibble with us in the car, or to the groomer, using it for treats. We have no issues with it dry. Keep fresh water available at all times; perhaps in different locations. We keep one bowl in the kitchen where they are fed, and another on the 4 season porch where they hang out most.
I have a 7 year old yellow lab (80 lbs) and 2 lab puppies maybe 30 libs? (both under 1 year). I currently feed them 2 times a day. How would this change if I went with raw food? How much would they get each day? I’m wondering how many bags I would need (I currently buy a 50 lb bag). While corn is not the 1st ingredient I’m sure it’s not the healthiest stuff either!
I have two Yorkie-Poo dogs ages 2 and 5. They are picky eaters. How many times a day do you feed them
Is it alright to feed Dr Marty’s food without the water to my Yorki poo ?
Our eldest toy poodle loves it dry. However, I prefer to add just enough purified water and mash the kibble into a savory stew. Both our dogs gobble it down wet or dry. We take it dry when we’re in the car, or to the groomer where we use it as a treat. Keep fresh water available at all times.
My dog had diarrhea for six days after eating one serving of this dog food. I have 19 more bags and I am going to throw it away I can’t go through that again.
My dog has never had an issue like this with any other food.
Did you make sure to slowly transition your dog? Switching rapidly can be a huge shock to their stomach.
Still have the bags? Donate them or ping me. Transition is the most important part.
Shoot I’ll buy it it’s great stuff. Eric
The oldest (12 years old) of our two senior dogs had SLIGHT diarrhea lasting a day and then soft stool for two days; nothing horrible nor unexpected. She was scheduled to be euthanized meaning it had been a long time (if at all) since she had quality food. I knew the (diarrhea) risk but was desperate to get her healthy asap AND we didn’t have any other dog food in the house, so she didn’t have a slow introduction to the new food (as recommended). Previous to adopting her, she had been on various medications. I believe the diarrhea is the body’s way of flushing toxins. She’s been with us for 1 month and her energy has increased tremendously. Even though she is deaf and almost blind she’s safe, loved and happy here and jumping around the yard playfully.
Does dr Marty have food for cats? Can a cat eat the dogs food? Our cat loves it and would it be alright to keep her on it?
I have been giving my dog the food for about a week and a half and he is now having trouble pooping. He usually goes 1-2 times a day but with this food he goes every other day or even 2 days may pass without. Is this normal as he adjusts to his new food?
My dog would take all day to eat and sometimes I had to throw it out and get more. Then I tried making his food from all fresh meats and veggies. He ate when he felt like it. Again having to throw a lot of it out. That gets expensive. Then i what you ad on my phone and tried it out. I only ordered 1 bag, just to see if he would eat. To my amazement he cleans his bowl every time. he almost 13 years old and I worried about him a lot. I have only had him for 5 years. He’s a rescue from an abusive situation. I treat him like a King, not know really what he went through. Thank you Dr. Marty. He’s finally eating healthy and well.
Do you recommend Dr. Marty Natures Feast for my kitty? She is 6 months old.
My two great danes absolutely LOVE the Natures Blend, but the expense of the food makes it impossible for me to feed on a regular basis. They have always been picky eaters but have gone crazy eating since adding this food as a topper. I hate to see them go back to their picky eating, not being able to purchase this, for them to eat on a daily basis. 🙁
Very interested in the food for my Boxer and Yorkie. I realize the food is very healthy and I want this for my babies. It’s just 16 ounces for like $29 is quite expensive. Wonder if I could feed them the dry dog food I use plus add about 1/4 cup or less and mix in together. I currently give them vitamin supplements, turmeric, and glucosamine. Which I can tell has helped them. I’d just like them to get better nutrients from their food also. Thanks, your advice appreciated.
Awesome story. I was very impressed. But way to expensive. So only the rich can have healthier dogs???
Dr. Goldstein I have a pembroke welsh corgi. She will be 11 months old the 15 th of December. We have had issues with her from the get go. She has a sensitive stomach has been on Hills prescription diet grain free. Food will sit in she tummy and not digest and throws up on other dog food. Now she doesn’t want the hills. What can we do for her. Very concerned about her health.
Nature;s Blend is grain free. How does that stand with the controversy of dialated cardiomyopathy and grain free foods? Vet says dogs need some grain.
I’ve had so many conversations with our vets about this. Apparently (per the vet), the issue is that grain-free pet food companies often lean on legumes (beans) to get to enough bulk and (so the vet said) it’s the amount of legumes that can cause this heart problem. This food has pea protein way down the list. I’m hoping far enough down to not cause an issue – AND I always supplement with more protein when I feed my dogs anyway, keeping the proportion of legumes even lower.
As a human who is grain-free myself, it’s very hard for me to comprehend how grains could be any more healthy for my German shepherds (just look at their teeth!) than it is for me. Sure, in the wild they’d get the little bit of pre-digested grain from the tummy of their prey… but think about the proportions.
I may be spending rumor here, but I feel like the “dogs need grains” argument is also all full of rumor or even, possibly, intentional misleading, so we all have to make our own choices based on our conversations with our vets or dog experts and our own wisdom, I guess.
Ps. My dogs are so far in love with this food!!!!!! I’ve always fed them grain free and high protein so I’m hoping we won’t get tummy troubles, but it’s always possible with new food. Usually resolves itself.
Dr. Marty,
I was a skeptic at first, but my dogs who have suffered from skin allergies, digestion problems, and lethargy are like puppies again after two weeks on your food. I never write reviews because it usually feels phony, but I am truly amazed with the results in my dogs just from changing their food. I was feeding my dogs Nutro before but I would always have to top their dry food with salmon for them to finish their bowls. You are truly a genius. I am just wondering, will you be coming out with a quantity that is larger than the current bags you have on the market? I have three giant breed dogs and as you can imagine, the smaller bags do not last very long between the three of them. I do not want to feed them anything else but your dog food in the future, because everything you guaranteed your dog food to help in dogs, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. You are the first Veterinarian that I have come across, that does not push business ahead of an animal’s wellbeing. I can’t thank you enough.
