I’m not a crafty person.
I’m one of those people that spends way too much time on Pinterest admiring all of the insanely crafty people in the world just knowing that I’ll never be able to create something so wonderful. So when I say this craft is easy, I mean it is easy peasy.
Here’s what you need:
- Canvas (I used a 9 x 12)
- Glue
- Paint brush
- Glitter
- Scissors/x-acto knife
Here’s how to do it:
1. Hop on your computer and search for your dog silhouette of choice. I just found my favorite pyr one, enlarged it, and printed it out.
2. Use your x-acto knife (or scissors if you’re really talented) to cut out your silhouette.
3. Once you have your pattern, trace the outline onto the canvas with a pencil.
4. Use your brush to paint the interior of your pattern with glue.
5. Cover the glue with glitter.
6. Tap off the excess glitter and…
TA DA!
Fluffy craft complete. Super easy and super cute!
Pro tip: When buying craft supplies, make sure you are purchasing glitter and not glitter glue…
It doesn’t have quite the same effect 😉
Is this a craft you would do?
Girlfriend – you’ve got skills! If you go over to our site and look at my attempt to be crafty, you would cry from laughter. That’s why I had to title it “It’s the thought that counts!” Your silhouette is gorgeous! There is absolutely no way I would attempt to make something like that – Harley would look like the “glitter monster” You did a fabulous job. Merry Christmas!
Aww, thanks so much for the kind words! I loved your craft 🙂 Merry Christmas to you as well!
That is so neat!! I am not crafty, either but this is something I could do! LOL
Very nice! We have diy dog silhouettes hanging in our den, they can be fun projects!
That is very cute. It came out great.
Seriously??? How COOL is that!!!! Thanks!

OMD! I’m just impressed at the way you trimmed around all that fur on the sillhouette with your X-acto knife. That takes some crazy skills.
However, I don’t think I’ll follow your example. I’m just imagining all the golden retriever fur balls rolling around in the spare glitter. 🙂
Very cool! Have a great Christmas.
I’m not real crafty either. That does sound simple enough that I could maybe pull it off….but I’m not sure if I would actually do it or not! LOL
I love your project – super cute. My other question is where did you get that sassy X-Acto knife?? I MUST have one of my own 🙂
It’s awesome, right?! I found it at Michael’s!
