The listening skills of a Great Pyrenees are beyond abysmal. They were bred to work independently from humans so they aren’t like most dogs. The won’t listen because they want to please you; you have to give them a reason.

Usually, a tasty treat can convince a pyr that what you are asking is worth doing. Keep in mind, I said usually. Many times the treats simply aren’t ‘good enough’ for them to pay attention. I’m always trying to find that irresistible treat that can grasp their attention when I really need it.

Since we are visiting family without a fenced in yard, it’s imperative that Mauja and Atka use their listening ears. In order to have a fighting chance, we had to make sure we were stocked up on tasty treats.

Great Pyrenees Bravo Crunchy Delights

Recently, Bravo! launched their new line of Crunchy Delights treats. When I was contacted by the company to try them, I immediately started researching the ingredients to see if they passed the ‘mom test’. I had to see if their slogan, “make good happen”, was accurate. Here’s a few key points about the Crunchy Delights treats:

  • Made in the USA
  • Real meat is the first ingredient
  • No added hormones or antibiotics
  • All natural
  • Made with vegetables and quinoa

Looks amazing, right? After reading through the ingredients, I knew I would be comfortable giving these to my pups.

I can tell how appealing treats are based on how easy it is to get the pups attention with them. I’m sure many of you know exactly what I mean. There are certain high value treats that always get your dog’s attention.

These treats are definitely going into the high value category. Mauja and Atka loooove them. When I shake the treat bag, they come running!

Mom approved and dog approved.

It doesn’t get much better than that!

Those look just right! I think that your beauties would be a good fit for the Jones Lamb Lung Puffs, too.

When Katie has something on her mind even a t-bone steak won’t get her to come when called! Most people just can’t understand that these types of dogs are completely independent and not interested in pleasing their owners with obedience. Hope these treats work for you guys! The only thing that has stopped Katie from taking off on us is old age. She still attempts but isn’t able to get far which is sad, but nice as well.

I’m just waiting for Mauja and Atka to lose the little bit of listening skills they have once they leave their puppy stage. We’re taking advantage of it while it still exists! These guardian breeds are definitely not for everyone, but they are just so incredibly loving.
