A Dog and His Paper

Oh, Atka.

The adolescent monster strikes again.

With the start of a new job and Christmas right around the corner, I’ve been a bit distracted lately. I’m forgetting the little things, such as making sure tempting items are out of reach when we leave the house.

I wasn’t thinking when I grabbed a magnet and put my weekly dinner recipes on the fridge. You see, Atka has a bit of an obsession with paper.

Although Atka seems to be the mischief instigator, Mauja isn’t hesitating to join in on the fun. I think Atka wishes she would just leave him to enjoy his paper shredding.

Paper is never safe in our house, but how could I be mad at this adorable face?

Is there a material that is never safe in your house?

My bog dogs are old and don’t mess with anything, but the wee dog is a different story. Can’t leave a tissue in reach. Can’t leave any food stuffs on the table. He climbs like a little goat.

Paper is always questionable. Tissues are like gold.

Anything left out is fair game when Kilo wants to play or get up to some mischief.

When my dogs were younger no paper that I had touched was sacred to them, but only paper that I had touched. They would devour a book I was reading and ignore many bookcases full of books.

I can relate…. when Harley was a puppy, he would spend the mornings with me at work. His favorite past time was devouring the paper in the trash can under my desk. I was a naive new pet parent who thought that was so cute. To this day, 6 years later, I have the only breathing paper shredder in the neighborhood!

Well, it looks like you don’t have to invest in a paper shredder. 😉 My cats serve the same purpose. But they have to lay on the paper before they shred it.

Haha! So funny, only because it’s happening to someone else and not me. Ace is 8 and wouldn’t dream of ripping anything up these days. Except, he loves to rip into his presents and then shred the wrapping paper. When he was younger, he ripped up a paperback book one time. He also took some ornaments off the tree and chewed those. Gotta love the adolescent stage! 🙂

That is funny. At least they aren’t eating it. Mine would eat.

Luke is a paper lover too, but more of the toilet paper/paper towel/napkin sort. Though just to be safe, I won’t put any lists on the fridge. He has stolen some other kinds of paper off the counter or my desk too, just not as often.
