Trick or Treat for Your Pooch
There have been so many adorable posts lately for homemade Halloween inspired dog treats. Since I’m a slacker, the fluffies will be getting store bought treats. For the non-slackers, I thought I would round up a few of my favorite recipe finds!
- We cannot get over how cute these Candy Corn frozen dog treats are from Beagles and Bargains. Just because the cooler weather is coming doesn’t mean you have to ditch the frozen goodies!
- Mummy pumpkin and cheese dog treats?! I’m going to attempt to make these, but I’m sure they won’t turn out as well as Kol’s Notes.
- Need another frozen treat option? Check out these Creepy Halloween Frosty Dog treats from Sugar the Golden Retriever.
- Have a pumpkin loving pooch? Try these Frosty Pumpkin treats from Miley’s Daily Scoop!
I’m sure I’ve missed many, many posts these past few weeks as our wedding is rapidly approaching! What Halloween inspired treats do you love?
High Hopes for Pets
Differentiating your treat company from the pack can be quite a daunting task these days. When Paula Etchison created High Hopes for Pets, she had more than creating a tasty and nutritious treat in mind. She wanted to help pets in need. That’s why 3.5% of every sale goes to the High Hopes for Pets Foundation. The foundation then distributes grants to different shelters and rescues. [Read more…] about High Hopes for Pets
Canine Good Citizen
On Saturday, Atka was scheduled for his Canine Good Citizen test. I didn’t have high hopes for Atka. He has the ability to complete all the test items, but his puppy gets the best of him sometimes. I figured it would be a good learning experience and would help calm my nerves about the test. If you are not familiar, here are the 10 test items for CGC from the AKC website: [Read more…] about Canine Good Citizen
The Anxiety Wrap
I really don’t like to medicate my dogs. I prefer to use natural remedies as much as possible. Thankfully, we haven’t had many occasions where I’ve needed to utilize medication. Mauja tends to have anxiety in new places, but we have found a natural product that really seems to take the edge off. It wasn’t until recently that I needed something for Atka. Fall is For Full Moon

The fluffies were given the opportunity to taste test some treats from our pals over at Full Moon. We were thrilled to receive a few swag items along with our treats! It’s safe to say, we love these. [Read more…] about Fall is For Full Moon
Fall Fantasy Dog Show
This past weekend, our local shelter had a fundraiser to help with their adoptable animals by hosting a “dog show”. Now, this wasn’t your typical dog show; it was all fun activities! The shelter set up several different classes for the dogs to enter, such as Best Costume, Dog-Owner Look Alike, Best Trick, Best Vocal, Musical Sit and so on.
Portland Pyrs
At about 4 pm last Friday, I decided that we would take a spontaneous trip to Portland after work. Work ended at 4:30.
Nick was quite surprised when I called him, but being a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, he packed up the car so we could hit the road. 10 hours later, we arrived in Portland.
What was the reason for this spontaneous trip? [Read more…] about Portland Pyrs
Look Who’s Happy, Atka!

It’s not that I can’t make them; I just never take the time to do it. Every weekend I come up with a treat idea that I’m DEFINITELY going to make. That rarely ever happens.
I’m also very picky with what I allow the fluffies to eat. I won’t just grab any treat off the shelf for them to try. [Read more…] about Look Who’s Happy, Atka!
