December 9, 2018 18 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. You won't pay a penny more, but you'll help keep It's Dog or Nothing running (websites are expensive!) and the floofs fed (they're even more expensive - as you well know) ;)

Feeding your floof can be difficult. We have a food we're sure your dog will love. Enter the giveaway on It's Dog or Nothing!

We’re officially halfway through our 12 Days of Giveaways! We’ve had a blast so far, and I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing all of the amazing products. If you missed a day, be sure to go back and enter the giveaways here.

Today, we’re hosting a giveaway for a new floof favorite, and I guarantee your dog will love it. We’re going to give you a brief overview, but stay tuned—we’ll be talking more about this product over the next few months (that’s how much we like it).

Dr. Marty Pets

A leader in integrative medicine, Dr. Martin Goldstein (Dr. Marty), aims to combine both traditional medicine and alternative therapies to help your pet, be its healthiest, happiest self.

After going through his own health issues and learning how to heal them, he knew he could make the lives better of our furry friends.

The Food

Because the bottom line is: Your lucky pet can live a healthier, happier, more vibrant life… starting today. – Dr. Marty Pets

A few months ago, we were given the opportunity to try the dog food from Dr. Marty, Nature’s Blend. I was a bit apprehensive about trying it because the floofs are insanely picky, but I figured we’d give it a try—never hurts to try.

They. Were. Obsessed.

Color me impressed.

Nature’s Blend is a premium freeze-dried dog food formulated to give your dog a healthier life. It combines proteins (including meats, fish, beef, and duck) for variation, and includes fruits and vegetables for balanced nutrition. It is also all-natural and free from chemicals and fillers.

Giving Back

My favorite thing about Dr. Marty’s is the fact that they partner with Freedom Service Dogs of America.

Freedom Service Dogs of America rescues shelter dogs and trains them as service dogs for the people who need them most. This is a cause close to my heart since Miss Kiska was a rescue and is well on her way to become a service dog for me.

Stay Tuned

We have so much more to tell you about Dr. Marty and his products, so keep your eye out over the next several months. In the meantime, enter below to win two (2) bags of Nature’s Blend from Dr. Marty! Five (5) lucky winners will be randomly selected.

If you just can’t wait to get your paws on Dr. Marty’s food, you can try some at a GREAT discount. Click here to give it a try!

I always look for food that is made in the USA and has the flavors my dog likes. I also like the limited ingredients in our food.

When I shop for food for my dogs, price is important, but also is nutrition and taste for them. I look for food without grains, by-products, unknown meat products (if it just says “meat” or “animal fat” I avoid it as I know just what that can contain). I also watch for food that haven’t had recent recalls – some of the biggest name brands seem to have constant recalls and I don’t want to have to worry about issues with the food I buy.

I look for high quality food, meat as the first ingredient, made in the USA, all the ingredient names I can pronounce, a natural product, one that gives them what nature intended, and quite a few other things.

It’s a balancing game between price and nutrition. Taste of the Wild Pacific Salmon has worked really well for us.

My dogs adore freeze dried meats in the mix of food. I look for products that are NOT sourced from China.

When choosing a food I look for something high in protein and food that I think will work for allergies since my terriers can be itchy when eating some foods.

I look for USA products that have natural and limited ingredients. I also look for a good protein source as the first ingredient, no fillers and ingredients I can’t recognize.

I like to give me dogs healthy and natural products. The less extra stuff in their food, the better, I think!

He is a golden so our dog trainer said to change his protein every time we buy a new bag of food and get high protein with the least ingredients.

We used to have to get him sedated for sanitary trims, but a few months ago we were able to switch to Clonidine and do them ourselves. We’ve been gradually reducing the dosage, and today, he had his first trim with ZERO drugs and ZERO growling 🙌🙌
